Welcome

The Highfield School
The Highfield School is an ambitious school where all are encouraged to achieve their full potential. This is based on a culture of high expectation, challenge and the support needed, so that by working hard together, we can all achieve our goals. We have an excellent reputation both academically and pastorally.
When this happens, it's usually because the owner only shared it with a small group of people, changed who can see it, or it's been deleted.

A big thank you to our Geography Department for organising a fantastic couple of days of Year 10 fieldwork along the River Great Ouse in Bedfordshire. Students developed their fieldwork skills by learning how to record river measurements and see their learning in the classroom put into a practical context. They also spent time at the Chellington Centre, further enhancing their understanding in a hands-on environment. It was wonderful to see such enthusiasm and engagement throughout the trip, and our students had a truly memorable experience. An enormous thanks to Geography team in delivering such a valuable learning opportunity and for inviting Mr Nichol, Mr Heatley, Mr Kuok and Ms Burgess who were delighted to be able to get involved, don their waders and jump in!!
It's been a busy couple of weeks with the Year 10 Catering students' practical mock exams where students have had three hours to prepare and present two dishes. They have put a great deal of thought into their creations, ensuring attractive presentation whilst demonstrating excellent time management, food safety practices, and technical skills throughout the process. There have been so many successful outcomes that again it was difficult to choose just one dish, so here is a small selection of their fantastic work. Well done to Tommy , Oscar, Samantha Mae, Janisha and Scarlett - these look absolutely delicious!

Last week, Mr Stepien organised for a group of GCSE PE students to go to the University of Bedfordshire for a Sports Science experience day. The students took part in in several sessions including sports therapy and rehabilitation work, Blaze Pods, Speed gates and some completed a practical experiment to predict Vo2 max. The students showed lots of interest and initiative, asking some great questions and fully immersing themselves in the experience.
