Last week, Mr Stepien organised for a group of GCSE PE students to go to the University of Bedfordshire for a Sports Science experience day. The students took part in in several sessions including sports therapy and rehabilitation work, Blaze Pods, Speed gates and some completed a practical experiment to predict Vo2 max. The students showed lots of interest and initiative, asking some great questions and fully immersing themselves in the experience.

It's our Year 10 Catering students' practical mock exam week! Over this week and next, students have three hours to prepare and present two dishes.
They have put a great deal of thought into their creations, ensuring attractive presentation whilst demonstrating excellent time management, food safety practices, and technical skills throughout the process.
There have been so many successful outcomes that it was difficult to choose just one dish, so here is a small selection of their fantastic work.
Well done to Anya, William, Nyx, Ben and Ellie – these look absolutely delicious!

🏹 One hero. Many legends. A tale you won’t forget!
Just before half term, our Year 10 Media students spent the day at Sky Up Academy Studios in Elstree. They enjoyed a studio tour, explored careers in TV and film, and brought their own film pitch ideas to life in the XR studios. A fantastic experience, and the students showed an excellent attitude throughout!
It’s MURDER in the library 😲 Year 8 students will be turning detective using teamwork, observation and logic to find out whodunnit!
Y12 Geography students getting a taste of Uni life with the University of Hertfordshire Geography department. All of the students got to use a range of equipment for data collection, providing inspiration for their NEA project titles. A fantastic way to spend a sunny day, and an insight into university teaching.

Year 12 Geographers journied to Cromer on Monday for a windswept but dry day of fieldwork. This forms one of their 4 days of practice for their upcoming NEA project work. We were looking at a variety of factors including slope angle, effectiveness of sea defences and particle size on the beach as well as some more urban parts of Cromer. In addition, most made sure to rate the fish and chips as well as a selection of ice creams!
We got lucky with the weather and dodged all the downpours, apart from on the drive home. The group will be out again on Friday to investigate Water and Carbon cycles with the University of Hertfordshire.
