Welcome
The Highfield School
The Highfield School is an ambitious school where all are encouraged to achieve their full potential. This is based on a culture of high expectation, challenge and the support needed, so that by working hard together, we can all achieve our goals. We have an excellent reputation both academically and pastorally.
Last week, our Year 10 students took part in the Tunnock’s Teacake Challenge, where they transformed a simple teacake into an eye-catching creation using their decorative skills and creativity.
A huge well done to Sophia S for her beautiful strawberry rose design, Nyx E for their striking chocolate shards and Lola and Brooke for their elegant white chocolate stripe decoration. Fantastic effort from everyone who took part!

Today marks the final Student Parliament meeting of this academic year – a fantastic opportunity to reflect on the achievements, ideas and positive changes our student representatives have helped drive across the school.
A huge thank you to all of our Student Parliament members for their commitment, leadership and dedication to ensuring student voice remains at the heart of our community. We look forward to building on your ideas and successes next year!
We were delighted to host our very first Primary Dance Festival yesterday, welcoming primary schools from across our local area to take part in a range of exciting dance activities.
A huge well done to all of the Year 5 pupils who attended. Their enthusiasm, creativity and energy made the event a fantastic success.
Thank you to everyone who joined us – we loved celebrating the joy of dance together!

On Thursday 25th June, our lovely Year 12 English Literature class made the long journey up to Haworth in Yorkshire. Despite the heat and a long drive in the minibus (huge thanks to Mr Nichol for his fantastic driving!), we had a glorious day exploring the village where Charlotte Brontë grew up.
The students were able to walk around the house of the writer of one of their core A Level texts, received two incredibly informative talks from a local expert at the museum and even had a little foray onto the moors that so heavily inspired the Brontë sisters. Miss Hussey and Mr Nichol were so impressed with their attitude and thoroughly enjoyed taking the class on this adventure!
