Last week Year 7 calypso cricket team participated at Stevenage CC. Our first opponents were Thomas Alleynes school who we comfortable beat, we then went on to beat KTS and Nobel to reach the semi-finals were we played KTS B team, this was another comfortable victory setting up a final against Thomas Alleynes who we had previously beaten in the group stages of the competition. Unfortunately we narrowly lost the final but were awarded the silver medals, well done to everyone who participated and a special mention to Bradley for his batting performances and Zara for her bowling performances.
Mystery, fantasy, crime, adventure, real life, non-fiction… Book Club and Library Helpers visited David’s Bookshop on Friday to choose new stock for the school library which they will help to promote in school. GRIT Mentors Celebration Lunch We were delighted to attend a celebration lunch on Monday to thank our GRIT Mentors for their outstanding hard work and dedication throughout the year. Our mentors have made a significant contribution by supporting younger students at Highfield, helping them to build confidence, resilience, and a positive attitude towards learning. The lunch was generously funded by The Heritage Foundation, and we would like to extend our sincere thanks for their continued support of the GRIT programme. We are incredibly proud of everything our mentors have achieved this year and the positive impact they have had on our school community. We look forward to welcoming a new group of mentors and continuing the programme's success in the year ahead.
Meet the sisters... well, our incredibly talented students anyway trying on their costumes for the first time! Here's a first look at the cast in costume for Nunsense. The second evening in our trinity of performing arts events this term promises to be an incredible evening of: fun, laughter and downright silliness! Join us on Tuesday 7th July at 6:00pm for an evening of music, laughter and fabulous performances. Licensed bar available throughout the evening. NUNSENSE A Musical Comedy Book, Music and Lyrics by Dan Goggin. This amateur production of NUNSENSE is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals Ltd. www.concordtheatricals.co.uk

Last week, our Year 10 students took part in the Tunnock’s Teacake Challenge, where they transformed a simple teacake into an eye-catching creation using their decorative skills and creativity. A huge well done to Sophia S for her beautiful strawberry rose design, Nyx E for their striking chocolate shards and Lola and Brooke for their elegant white chocolate stripe decoration. Fantastic effort from everyone who took part!
