We took our Year 8 football and netball team to the Scholars cup. All the students performed well and they enjoyed an afternoon competing in a very competitive tournament at Samuel Ryder school in St Albans. The netball team finished 3rd and the football team finished 5th. Well done to all involved.
Welcome
The Highfield School
The Highfield School is an ambitious school where all are encouraged to achieve their full potential. This is based on a culture of high expectation, challenge and the support needed, so that by working hard together, we can all achieve our goals. We have an excellent reputation both academically and pastorally.
Our Year 7 cricket team had their first game of the season showing some excellent play. For some of our players, this was their first experience of hard-ball and they adapted really well! The game come down to the last over, narrowly losing by 1 run with 1 ball to go.
Congratulations to Scarlett F for creating this week’s Dish of the Week - a delicious Strawberry Cheesecake and Biscoff Cheesecake. Our Year 10 Catering students have been developing and refining their presentation skills, ensuring their dishes look just as irresistible as they taste.
Yesterday, Year 8 were building bridges and testing them by adding weights to see which design could hold the most. Great teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving from everyone involved.
When this happens, it's usually because the owner only shared it with a small group of people, changed who can see it, or it's been deleted.

We’re delighted to share some fantastic news from one of our school families! ⚽️
Isla and the U14s Hertfordshire County football team won their final yesterday, beating Durham 1-0 and are now National Cup Champions 2026! 🏆
An incredible achievement and a moment to be hugely proud of - congratulations to Isla and the whole team!
Congratulations to our Year 9 Bronze Award students for completing their training expedition 24-25th April. Good luck to our Year 10 Silver Award students who are off on their practice this week. Remember, there is no such thing as bad weather, just incorrect clothing!
Massive CONGRATULATIONS to our Year 9 band, The Crunks, aka Reuben, Alex and Eoin, who performed at the cross trust Battle of the Bands last Thursday, and won the KS3 category! The judges commended them for being a strong unit where each of them brought skill, musicality and stage presence, and said they simply had "the X factor". Well done for shining through a competitive set of performances. We are so proud!

Year 12 Textiles & Graphics Trip - Window Display Installation
Our Year 12 Textiles and Graphics students took part in an exciting real world design opportunity by visiting Rubarb in Hitchin to install a bespoke window display they have collaboratively designed and produced.
The project challenged students to respond to a live client brief, working collaboratively to create a window display that reflected Rubarb’s identity while showcasing their own creativity, technical skills and understanding of visual communication.
Students worked on site to carefully install the display, adapting their plans to a real retail environment and demonstrating excellent problem solving, teamwork and professionalism. We are extremely proud of the high standard of work produced and grateful to the team at Rubarb for supporting our students and giving them the opportunity to see their work displayed in the local community. This type of project plays an important role in preparing students for further study, apprenticeships and creative careers.
Parents and carers are very welcome to take a look at the display while it is on show.
