Geography Learning Journey

KS3

All students study geography for 3 hours each two-week cycle. The department has developed a curriculum which studies issues that are relevant to student’s lives and interests; for example, plate tectonics, migration, tropical rainforests, India and Thailand. The curriculum is set with guidance from the National Curriculum and prepares students for the topics they will study at GCSE and A Level.

Is fieldwork compulsory?

Educational visits which enable students to collect data and to practice fieldwork techniques for GCSE and A Level courses are necessary and part of the course. Therefore, all GCSE and A Level Geography students are expected to attend these trips.
